Meet Bethany
Many people come to therapy feeling at odds with themselves—pulled by thoughts, emotions, and body-based reactions that don’t always feel within their control. I focus on understanding these responses for their protective role, so awareness can support meaningful and lasting change while honoring your personal story.
My approach is intentional and collaborative, integrating Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), somatic practices, and neuropsychologically informed strategies. Together, we work to build self-awareness, regulate the nervous system, increase emotional flexibility, and reconnect with values within the context of your lived experience.
I often work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and mood- or personality-related challenges. My style is strength-based and solution-focused, emphasizing resilience, internal resources, and values while moving at a pace that feels supportive and respectful.
I aim to provide a grounded, attuned space where you can better understand yourself, integrate your experiences, and intentionally shape a life aligned with your strengths and sense of purpose.
Education & Credentials
I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Simmons University and became a therapist as a second career once my children were in middle school—a choice that has been deeply meaningful to me. I take a practical, straightforward approach in sessions, offering tools that are easy to use in everyday life. I also value humor in the therapeutic space, as a little lightness can make even complex work feel more approachable and human. Before becoming a therapist, I trained as a professional dancer at Alvin Ailey and the Dance Theatre of Harlem, an experience that continues to shape my appreciation for resilience, discipline, and the mind–body connection. Outside of sessions, I love spending time with my young adult children, traveling, trying new restaurants or recipes, and staying active at the gym or in a Pilates reformer class.
